DOCTOR: COURSE OVERVIEW

The Doctor of Philosophy in European Studies program is a full time, research-oriented, international program, structured on a trimester basis. The maximum period of study, for the doctoral degree is 6 academic years, over the course of which students must earn a total of 48 credits.

The qualifying exam must be passed within 2 academic years and the dissertation proposal defense within 3 academic years after first enrollment. All dissertation publication and submission requirements must be fulfilled within 6 years.

Coursework is not required, but students who do not have a European studies background, are requested to attend a total of 4 core courses provided by Master of Arts in European Studies (MAEUS) program.
